Medical Yoga (Kundalini-based) — Phenomenological Study PROTOCOL: Participants from intervention group (n=18) in an RCT who received medical yoga group sessions + standard care for 12 weeks at a primary health care centre in Sweden. DESIGN: Qualitative phenomenological study (Giorgi method) interviewing 6 participants (5 women, 1 man, ages 43-51) about their lived experiences. INTERVENTION DETAILS (from parent RCT): • Medical yoga = specifically designed from Kundalini yoga for people who are severely ill • Starting positions: sitting, lying, or standing • Movements generally slower than traditional yoga • Includes: breathing exercises (pranayama), postures (asanas), meditation (dhyana) • 12-week group program at primary health care centre QUALITATIVE FINDINGS: Experience described as "start of a process towards increased sense of wholeness"; alleviating suffering; tool for dealing with stress on practical level. NOTE: Protocol details are from the parent RCT (Kohn 2013), not this qualitative study. This study focused on subjective meaning, not intervention specifics.
